SHE/HER | CHICAGO, ILLINOIS

Antonia R. Coleman describes herself as “Bill's daughter and Joyce's heartbeat.” She is a musician and womanist theologian with a master of divinity from McCormick Theological Seminary. Her work is informed by EcoWomanism, widowhood care, reparatory justice, and the Black Protestant tradition, and she finds rest and joy in good food and laughter in community. For Antonia, there is comfort in sweet music, a good book, a shaded tree, and the splashes of Yemonja's hemline, the Yoruban giver of life and mother of all.
